Effective 07/01/2026 - Stage One Water Restrictions

Dear Animas Water Company Members,

On June 30th, 2026, at a regularly scheduled monthly Board of Directors meeting, the Animas Water Company’s Board of Directors adopted the attached Water Restriction Plan - Stage One Water Restrictions

After much consideration, and due to the uncertainty created by the extreme drought conditions throughout the Colorado River System, and in response to a dry winter and low snowpack, to preserve our water supplies it is necessary to implement Stage 1 Water Restrictions effective 07/01/2026.

We understand there will be an adjustment period with your irrigation watering schedules, as well as other items on the list. Our team is available by email (awc@animaswatercompany.com), telephone (970-259-4788), and in person to answer any questions you may have.

Due to the continuing drought, we are being cautious in protecting our water supplies.

An electronic copy of the Water Restriction Plan can be found on our website at www.animaswatercompany.com under the Conservation tab, or if you would prefer a paper copy, please contact us and we are happy to deliver one to your property.
